MY BIOGRAPHY

ABOUT ME

I was born in Madrid in 1976, in a family deeply committed to women’s health. My father, a gynecologist, and my mother, now a retired midwife, shaped my early years by making me comfortable discussing topics that might be considered taboo in other households, such as HPV.

After marrying, my husband and I decided to leave the hustle and bustle of city life for the tranquility of the countryside. It’s here, in this peaceful setting, that we raised our two wonderful children.

Regarding life’s little pleasures, I firmly believe that smiles and chocolate make everything better.

My Passion: Spending quality time with my family and friends, who I cherish dearly, even though I wish we could be together more often.

My Purpose: Education has been at the heart of my career. With over 20 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language, I am dedicated to helping others grow through learning.

My Dream: The book you’re holding is the realization of a long-held dream. It’s the culmination of my passion for teaching, writing, and sharing stories that matter.

BEGINNING THE BOOK

I felt compelled to share this incredible story – one that’s been on my mind for a long time and simply couldn’t be kept to myself. While my novel, There’s Something I Need to Tell You , is not autobiographical, it is inspired by my personal experiences in several ways.

The story unfolds in a school, a setting I know well, and it’s here where the main characters’ paths cross. Alongside the central theme of HPV (Human Papillomavirus), you’ll also find some secondary plots that add depth and intrigue, keeping you engaged from start to finish.

Through this narrative, I wanted to create a meaningful way to raise awareness about HPV, the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide. I hope the story touches your heart while also educating and inspiring you to reflect on this important issue.

MY CAREER

I hold a BA in English Philology from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, as well as a Master of Arts in TESOL from Virginia International University. Since the age of 24, I’ve been teaching English at the high school level, working with students ranging from 15 to 18 years old.

Although teaching is a demanding profession, especially in today’s challenging times, I truly love what I do. Every day offers new opportunities to inspire and engage my students, and I find great fulfillment in guiding them on their educational journeys.

My Vision

My goal is to craft stories that deliver clear, powerful messages, bringing personal experiences to life in a way that resonates with readers. I want people to connect with my characters on a deep, emotional level, learning from their journeys. My readers appreciate authentic stories about real people, and I aim to take them on a journey filled with raw, relatable emotions that will stay with them long after they’ve finished reading.

My Mission

My mission is to reach every sexually active individual with an important message: the need for HPV prevention. Through my novel, There’s something I need to tell you, I aim to raise awareness and spark conversation about this crucial issue, using storytelling as a powerful tool for change.

My Goal

My goal is to touch people’s hearts through my stories, creating characters and experiences that readers can truly relate to. I write about real-life situations, allowing my readers to immerse themselves in stories that feel personal and meaningful because these are stories that could happen to anyone.

I really liked the ability of the characters to make you see the consequences of a disease that remains hidden. It tells us about everything that is invisible with it and ruins our lives, in personal relationships, in the burden of guilt, etc. It gives us hope and a cry to society to find and make effective the solution: vaccination for both sexes and medical check-ups. It helps to visualize the ways of coping from the field of psychological help. A very enjoyable and instructive novel, without falling into sentimentality.

Today I finished reading this novel by the incredible writer and even better person...Vega Beloqui...and I can't describe with words what I felt...It's wonderful from beginning to end and highly recommended for all audiences (adults and teenagers). It keeps you hooked from the first moment and I couldn't stop crying in the last few chapters. I identified with it in so many ways!! I can't wait for my daughters to read it and for me to be able to read a second novel of yours!! The way HPV is treated is delightful, as well as the day-to-day life of a teacher and student.
